Further information regarding installation

Safeline Web Service installation procedure

In order to deploy the platform correctly, the system administrator must install the following open-code software distributions

  • MySQL 5.6

  • MongoDB Community Server 3.4

  • Oracle JDK 8

WARNING: Safeline does not guarantee the correct functioning of the software in any version previous or subsequent to the fore-mentioned.

Open the command interpreter and initialize the MySQL service.

> service mysql start

Create a database with collation “utf8_general_ci”, swsbd being the default name of the database in the project’s configuration file.

> CREATE DATABASE swsbd CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci

In this database, all the relational structure necessary to the Safeline Web Service software is maintained.

Subsequently, in a new instance of the command interpreter, initialize the MongoDb service.

> service mongod start

Hereafter, create a new database, mongosws being the default name.

> use mongosws

In the non-relational database are stored:

  • Measurements, input/output status and information/data from all units which they send to the server.

  • Logs generated by the system.

VERY IMPORTANT: the system administrator must be held accountable for backup copies and space available on the hard drive.

Upon download of the software packages pertaining to Safeline Web Service, the following directories are to be found:

  • Backend. Contains files necessary for deployment of Safeline Web Service’s main service and takes care of the following:

    • Create all relational database tables en MySQL 5.6

    • Register the user administrator by defect

    • Offer an authentication service

    • Present the user with the HTML5 templates

    • Alarm detection

    • Management of output relays via schedule programmers and manual control

    • Generation of notifications and dispatch of e-mails to the user

  • Rest. Contains the files for start-up of REST service. Takes care of following functionalities:

    • Initialization of non-relational database MongoDB 3.4

    • Deployment of an API REST service

    • Automatic registration of system units

    • Maintaining information, measurements and input/output status of Sureline 7WR units in the non-relational database

The Safeline Web Service software is made up of two Java application containers with a “.jar” extension, each of which has a secondary file for manual configuration with a “.yml” extension. It is of the utmost importance that, before installing and executing the “.jar” files, the “.yml” files are correctly configured. Refer to manual.

Once the “.yml” files have been configured, open the command interpreter of the operating system and execute the Bacend service which is in the “backend-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar” Java application container.

Wait until the software indicates “Started BackendApplication” in the register as this indicates that the service has initialized correctly.

Subsequently, open a new command interpreter and execute the rest service located in the Java application container “restservice-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar”.

> java –jar restservice-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar

Wait until the software indicates “Started RestserviceApplication” in the register as this indicates that the service has initialized correctly.

Enablement of data dispatch to the Safeline Web Service in the compatible Sureline Universal+ 7WR units 1

Access the unit and press “Access configuration”, go to “TCP/IP configuration (remote server)”, enter the server URL (public IP) where the Safeline Web Service is hosted and check “Enabled” box. Where the name is requested, it is recommended the number of the office/installation is noted. The user fields and password are not necessary with this software. Enter the user PIN and press “Save”.

Outstanding characteristics

Storage of measurements and I/O status dispatched by the units

At 5-minute intervals, the units automatically dispatch measurements and I/O status to the Safeline Web Service server. The data remains recorded in the database for its analysis.

Auto-registration of units in the server

The Safeline Web Service auto-registers the units which send it information.

Geographical registration of units from map via Google

Geographical location. Latitude, longitude, time zone, address, town, province, community and country.

Astronomical weekly programmer for each geographical location (assignable to a group of units)

Astronomical daily / weekly: Management of output relays at sunrise and sunset according to time zone and geographical location of each unit. Permits programming daily switching on and off via a high-precision algorithm which calculates sunrise and sunset every day.

Graphical analysis of measurements

The platform permits the measurements and I/O status of the units to be graphically analysed. The user can choose to view data in days, weeks or months. He can also choose to view in lines or bars. Can be zoomed in to the minimum scale (5 mins). Includes maximum, minimum and mean values.

Management of alarms for each unit with notifications via e-mail

The system permits the alarm enablement value of each measurement to be configured.

Assignation of alarms due to change in status at logic input

Management of tags to assign to groups of units.

The tags have a colour and a name. By default, the platform creates tags based on ten colours in order to organise and cluster the units. The tags can also be customised by adding on, editing name and colour or eliminating them.

In a world where modern electronics are increasingly present, problems occur stemming from the harmonics fluctuations produced by “non-linear” energy consumption. How does it work?

The astronomical schedule programmer permits up to 4 relays to be switched on or off at sunset or sunrise. i.e. switch on at sunset and off at sunrise, thanks to the high-precision algorithm which the unit calculates daily.

Ease of operation

Geographical location. Firstly, the unit must be given the location (where one wishes it to calculate sunrise and sunset). This is done by simply pressing “Automatic” and obtaining the device’s coordinates. These can also be entered manually.
Secondly, the relays must be adjusted according to the days of the week in which their action is required. This is done via the minimalist panel, by indicating the days and then enabling the relays which are to be executed assigning them a status (e.g. off at sunset and on at sunrise or viceversa). An offset can also be added to advance or retard each relay up to 240 minutes should action be required before or after sunrise or sunset.
Vacations. Lastly, the user must indicate whether or not the programmer is to execute on holidays. These holidays are configured in the vacations schedule programmer.
Results. The schedule programmer has now been configured and it only remains to indicate whether DST is to be automatic. The result can now be viewed for the current date as well as, for instance, for the whole year since the unit will calculate sunrise and sunset for the current and subsequent years.

How does it work?

In the daily/weekly schedule programmer, the user can view all actions to be executed every week. It permits up to 4 relays to be switched on or off according to the day/s of the week at a specific time.

Ease of operation

Import / Export. If a programme has already been exported and the user wishes to import it, he must firstly import a configuration file then press “Select file”. In this way, several units can be easily programmed or backed up.
Programming time: Really simple. e.g. in the following panel, one observes that relay A is switched on 5 mins every day for, let’s say, an irrigation system. Should a new plant requiring a more intense irrigation be included, then the user would set relay A to ON at 19:00 hrs, for example and add it on. After that, at 19:30, he would program relay A to OFF in order for the irrigation system not to be running all night.
Configuration management: The lines of each programme can be eliminated or modified at any time. They can also be exported by means of the lower buttons.

How does it work?

The daily/monthly/yearly programmer is where more specific actions are hosted, e.g. enabling irrigation during the driest months. It permits up to 4 relays to be switched on or off according to the day, month and year at a specific time.

Ease of operation

Import / Export. If a programme has already been exported and the user wishes to import it, he must firstly import a configuration file then press “Select file”. In this way, several units can be easily programmed or backed up.
Programming time: Really simple. For example, during the hottest months (June, July and August), irrigation will be set every day at 15:00 hrs for 5 minutes. If a hot September 2018 is forecast, it can also be added. The user must ensure the relay is returned to the OFF position, as in the example, otherwise the irrigation system would be functioning throughout the whole period.
Configuration management: The lines of each programme can be eliminated or modified at any time. They can also be exported by means of the lower buttons

How does it work?

The daily/monthly/yearly (vacations) programmer is where actions are programmed for holidays. One must bear in mind that actions programmed in other programmers will not be executed on a holiday. Nevertheless, the user can decide whether or not the astronomical programmer enters in vacations. This is fully explained in the pertinent section.

Ease of operation

Import / Export. If a programme has already been exported and the user wishes to import it, he must firstly import a configuration file then press “Select file”. In this way, several units can be easily programmed or backed up.
Time programming. Really simple. For example, if the company vacation period is August and production is to be shut down. The user selects the month and set relays in “ALL” to “OFF”. In this way, in August the unit will not execute the programmed actions in the other programmers and will only act in this way until the end of the month.
Configuration management: The lines of each programme can be eliminated or modified at any time. They can also be exported by means of the lower buttons

Simultaneous execution: the schedule programmers function in parallel and, therefore, all the programmes are executed simultaneously with no delays except in the case of falling on a day which has been entered into the vacations programmer. In this case, only actions assigned to this programmer will be executed.
Programming the schedule programmers is an easy task whereas normally it is costly and onerous. This software has been designed by Safeline from scratch with all efforts focused on ease of use. The flat, minimalist interface, the geolocation (latitude, longitude and GMT) detection and the internal clock (date and time) all contribute to this end.
It only needs to be configured once. An outstanding feature is, without doubt, its self-sufficiency. The automatic time change-over by default along with the daily calculations carried out by the unit to determine sunrise and sunset guarantee that, once configured, it need never be configured again.
Export / Import. Should the user be interested in having the same configuration in different units or, simply, in having a copy of same, this can be done by simply exporting/importing the unit’s file to a computer or viceversa.
